The Management of a renowned oil and gas firm, Renaissance Africa Energy Company Limited, has joined other prominent Nigerians in eulogizing the late Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Lawrence Ehwrujakpor, narrating how he supported and facilitated the company’s seamless operations in the state while he was alive.
The Company’s Vice President, Relations and Sustainable Development, Dr Igo Weli, who stated this when he led a delegation of the management of the company to commiserate with the state governor, Senator Douye Diri in government house, Yenagoa further said the company had a smooth working relationship with the late deputy governor, describing him as a pillar of strength and support as regards the company’s operational activities in the state.
He equally noted that although the late Deputy Governor lived only 60 years on earth, the achievements and legacies he left behind were quite impactfull and are there for everyone to see.
“I have always said that we got the best support as a company from the government of Bayelsa State as Governor Diri put together an excellent team and the late Ewhrujakpor was a core member of the team,” he stressed.
Weli also pledged the company’s support at the funeral programme to give the departed Deputy Governor a befitting farewell.
While responding, Governor Diri expressed appreciation to the company’s management team for the visit, noting that Bayelsa State did not only lost a dependable Deputy Governor but he also personally lost a good friend and brother that was an integral part of the machinery of governance.
In his words: “Ewhrujakpo’s impact and legacies would continue to speak for him. He was a formidable force in the engine of government and the reasons are not far-fetched.
“This was one of the reasons why I related with him differently not only as Deputy Governor. Today, he is no more and that is life.”
The four day obsequies of the late Deputy Governor began on 27th January, 2026 and his remains will be interred at his home town in Ofoni, Sagbama Local Government Area of the state.
