In line with the native customs and traditions of recognizing Yoruba indegenes who are continuously contributing to the upholding of mutual understanding and development among Yorubas all around the world, the Ooni of Ife, HIM Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi and the Yoruba Council Worldwide, (YCW) has conferred the chairman of Yoruba Traditional Rulers Council in the South/South zone and the representative of Ooni in Bayelsa state on HRH Suleiman Oguntunji.
A letter addressed to HRH Suleiman Oguntunji and signed by Oladotun Hassan, President of YCW and made available to newsmen in Yenagoa noted that the conferment was approved by the Ooni of Ife based on the recognition of the noble roles played by HRH Oguntunji in fostering mutual and harmonious co-existence among Yoruba indegenes residing in Bayelsa State.
Oladotun Hassan further stressed that the recognition was also to appreciate his positive contributions towards protecting the integrity, cultural heritage, values and the development of Yorubas residing in not only Bayelsa state but the South/South zone of the country.
While appreciating the Bayelsa state governor, Senator Douye Diri, for giving Yoruba indigenes residing in the state the opportunity to develop in thier day to day activities in the state, YCW President also recommended HRH Oguntunji to the Governor for the purpose of recognizing him as the authentic King of Yoruba Community in the State.
