‎The Edo Broadcasting Service (EBS) reporter covering Office of the First Lady, Mrs. Juliet Enabulele Aisien, and her cameraman, Mr Bright Osifo, have been redeployed from the Government House.
‎‎
‎The redeployment was contained in an internal memo issued by the broadcast station and dated January 1, 2026.
‎‎
‎According to the memo, signed by the Managing Director of EBS, Sulaiman Aledeh, the redeployment “is subject to the rules, regulations and operational guidelines of EBS, as well as the protocols of the Office of the First Lady of Edo State.”
‎
‎The memo further directed that, in line with the posting, Mrs Aisien and Mr Osifo are to report to the EBS Headquarters on or before January 5, 2026, for debriefing.
‎
‎“You are to ensure a smooth and orderly transition, including the full handover of all duties and responsibilities to the colleagues now assigned to the Office of the First Lady,” the memo stated.
‎
‎It added that all relevant personnel are expected to provide the necessary support to facilitate the process..
‎‎
‎The redeployment comes amid public outrage over the alleged assault on the female journalist by ex-chairman of the Edo State Public Safety Response Team (PSRT), Kelly Okungbowa, popularly known as Ebo Stone.
‎‎
‎Blueprint.ng recalls that the journalist was reportedly assaulted on December 3, 2025, inside the Edo State Government House while covering an empowerment programme for Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) organised by the Office of the First Lady.
‎
‎Trouble was said to have erupted when some PWDs stormed the entrance of the venue, protesting their alleged exclusion from the programme.
‎
‎During the commotion, an EBS cameraman was said to have been harassed while allegedly attempting to film the scene.
‎
‎The situation reportedly escalated when the reporter intervened, leading to her being shoved and slammed against a wall during a confrontation with Okungbowa.
‎
‎Following the incident, Juliet was reported to have suffered lumbar strain.
