Five personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) have completed the Basic Coaching Certificate Programme of the National Institute for Sports (NIS), as part of ongoing collaboration to strengthen sports development and coaching capacity within the Corps.
The programme, which brought together coaches from across the country, equipped participants with modern coaching techniques and skills for athlete development.
NSCDC personnel were commended by the leadership of the NIS for their discipline, commitment, and performance throughout the training.
The Director General (DG) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the NIS, Comrade Philip Shaibu, praised the Corps for its sustained investment in sports and human capacity development, describing the NSCDC as an organisation with a strong sporting culture.
In his remarks, the Commandant General (CG) of the NSCDC, Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, reaffirmed the Corps’ readiness to continue working closely with the NIS to develop qualified coaches and improve athletic performance.
The development is in line with the visionary and dynamic leadership of the Commandant General, which places strong emphasis on personnel capacity building, physical fitness, and excellence across all areas of service delivery.
