His Majesty, of Benin’s ancient town and imperial crown,
Your Majesty‘s grace, a light that never will go down.
The blood of kings runs strong within Your Majesty‘s veins, Through centuries of trials, joy, and pains, Legends from Ekaladeran to Oba Erediuwa,
Centuries of the Domination of the Benin Empire over near and far.

From the days of the Ogisos,
Preceding the telling tales of Igodomigodo, The Royal Crown of the Great Benin Empire, Shines across the Atlantic like a royal sapphire.

Omo N’Oba N’Edo, whose wisdom far and wide it goes,
the legacy that the great tribe of Benin seek.
A tale of tapestry of peace
The spirit of our ancestors call,
In every story of our plot.

Uku Akpolokpolo, regal and true,
The people’s love forever due.
A monarch with a heart so pure,
A strength of spirit, always sure.

The representative of the gods here stand like oak with roots deep in earth,
A symbol of our sacred land and our heirs, Guiding us with honor, pride, and care, in Your Majesty‘s presence, we find peace, we share, One that comforts us in any despair.

Through Your Majesty‘s eyes,
we see the past revive, The pulse of Benin still alive,
From ancient walls to future’s rise,
Your Majesty‘s reign has taken the Kingdom to greater heights.

Beneath the golden royal garb Your Majesty wear,
Lies the heart of a regal king just and fair.
A beacon of hope for all to see,
A living legacy that keeps the Benin Spirit glowing over seas.

His Majesty, Oba Ewuare N’Ogieva our strength, our guide,
In Your Majesty,
our people’s pride does reside.
Through time, Your Majesty‘s reign will always shine,
A monarch for all, forever divine.

May Your Majesty‘s wisdom reign for years untold,
A story of virtue, brave and bold.

For in Your Majesty‘s hands, our fate is blessed,
Under Your Majesty’s reign, we find our rest.

Long live Your Royal Majesty,
the Oba of Benin in grace and light,
Your Majesty‘s virtues, shining ever bright,
Omo N’Oba, in Your Majesty we trust,
Our kingdom’s heart, forever just.

Poetry Co-ordinated By Douglas Ogbankwa Esq, President, Benin Writers’ Society(BWS)
