Nigerian-born environmental professional Sodiq Alaka has been honored with the highest professional distinctions of Fellowship in the Institute of Management Consultants (IMC) and Fellowship in the National Institute of Professional Engineers and Scientists (NiPES).
Mr. Alaka currently works as a Permitting Officer with the Environment Agency, United Kingdom, where he regulates industries with significant environmental impact, including chemical waste facilities, treatment plants, and industrial discharge operations. His role ensures that companies comply with the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2016, legislation that governs the protection of water, land, and air quality across the UK.
In addition to his regulatory leadership, Mr. Alaka has published scholarly research on waste management systems in Nigeria and sustainable desalination technologies, both of which have been referenced by policymakers and academics in addressing global environmental challenges. He also serves as a peer reviewer for multiple international journals, including titles focusing on environmental science, sustainability, and climate change, which highlights his recognition as an authority in his field.

He has authored and co-authored peer-reviewed research on municipal solid waste management, desalination technologies, and environmental sustainability practices, and he is an active reviewer for international scientific journals.
