Benin City is set to host a historic gathering of illustrious sons and daughters of Edo State as the Edo State Quintessential Icons Occasion holds on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at the Bishop Kelly Center, Benin City.
According to Tim Okojie Ave, the event, which will celebrate excellence, legacy, and contributions of Edo’s finest, will be chaired by foremost industrialist and philanthropist, Chief (Dr.) Leemon Ikpea, Chairman of Lee Engineering and Construction Company Limited. While Edo State Governor, Sen. Monday Okpebholo serves as Chief Host and Special Guest of Honour, and Prof. Sylvester Odion Akhaine, Department of Political Science, Lagos State University, is the Chief Guest Speaker.
Among the eminent personalities expected at the occasion are Chief Mike Oghiadomhe, former Chief of Staff to President Goodluck Jonathan; Chief Lucky Nosakhare Igbinedion, former Governor of Edo State, Mr. Adolphus Aghughu, former Auditor-General of the Federation; Senator Daisy Danjuma, former Senator representing Edo South and High Chief Gabriel Igbinedion, the Ezama of Benin Kingdom.
Others include General Cecil Osolase Esekhaigbe(rtd), former Nigerian Defence Attache to the United States of America; Rt.Hon. Samson Raphael Osagie, Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice, Edo State; Prof. Mike Ozekhome; Rt.Hon. Elizabeth Ativie, former first female Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly and others.
