Okhiku Esezobor, a front runner for the position of Council Chairman in Owan West Local Government of Edo State, has set his sight on attaining the highest level of good governance when he assumes office next July.
In a chat Esezobor, who is of the All Progressives Congress(APC), made it known that his intentions are ideal and noble to advance the living standard of his people to the level that the current rural setting of the locality can be readjusted to give it a cosmopolitan setting.
With a promise to match words with action by providing all that are necessary to make life enjoyable for all and sundry.
“Nothing stops Owan West Local Government from becoming the leading area in Edo State in terms of motorable roads that will be of immense value to farmers who can then have smooth access to and fro their farmland. This will no doubt ease the hitherto bottleneck that farmers encounter in transporting their products to the market.
“Also, I am interested in empowerment program for elders, youths, women and leaders. We will carry everybody along in the scheme of things. No one would be left behind. The resources to achieve these are there. What we will focus on is applying the right approach to put things in order.
“In the area of education, we will make available grants/scholarships for pupils/students who desire to be educated to tertiary level. We will not let the issue of lack of funds to stop the dream of our children to attain lofty dreams,” he posited.
Talking about health he promised to upgrade the health facilities available to appreciable standard and ensure that the facilities are within close quarters to the people.
On the political leaders in the area Esezobor gave his words that their wealth of experience would be of huge benefit and thus they would be consulted regularly on major steps that need to be taken to move the affairs of the council to the pinnacle of good governance.
