Former Speaker of the House of Representatives now Chief of Staff(COS) to the President, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, has declared that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a truly national and equitable leader whose developmental strides and inclusive governance should earn him the continued support of Northern Nigeria.

Speaking at the 2025 Dialogue Session of the Northern Caucus of the National Forum of Former Legislators held in Abuja, Gbajabiamila highlighted several ongoing initiatives of the Tinubu administration that have transformed the lives of Nigerians across the country, with special focus on Northern communities.

He emphasized that the North has benefitted immensely from President Tinubu’s leadership, citing critical infrastructure projects, agricultural investments, and the new student loan scheme which has already supported over 275,000 students in Northern Nigeria alone.

“President Tinubu is not just a Southern leader; he is a national leader who has carried every region along,” Gbajabiamila told the gathering of former federal lawmakers. “From critical infrastructure to policy reforms, the North is benefitting from a government that believes in equity and shared prosperity.”

He noted that President Tinubu’s bold policy initiatives, such as the student loan scheme, have also relieved lawmakers and community leaders of the financial burden of paying school fees for indigent students.

“This scheme has relieved legislators of the responsibility of paying millions—sometimes hundreds of millions—of naira annually to support the education of young constituents,” he said.

He used the opportunity to rally support for Tinubu’s re-election in 2027, stressing that the president deserves the North’s continued backing to complete his far-reaching development agenda.

“We are laying solid foundations today, and it is only right that the president is allowed to finish what he started,” he declared.

The event, attended by several prominent Northern political figures, underscored growing momentum within the region for sustained partnership with President Tinubu’s government.

Gbajabiamila’s message resonated with attendees who hailed the administration’s efforts in addressing insecurity, improving education access, and driving infrastructural renewal in the North.
