Asisat Oshoala has announced her retirement from professional football, effective after the WAFCON 2024/2025 tournament.

A six-time African Women’s Player of the Year, Oshoala will retire from the sport following the upcoming WAFCON tournament, after which she will focus on new endeavors beyond the pitch.

Oshoala leaves behind a legacy that is unparalleled, holding the distinction of being the record holder for the most CAF Women’s Player of the Year awards, which she won in 2014, 2016, 2017, 2019, 2022, and 2023.
