In a statement released by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Shi’isu Adam, it was detailed that upon arrival, officers “discovered the lifeless body of an unidentified male adult under a slab containing electrical wiring.”

Preliminary investigations, according to SP Adam, indicate that “the deceased was electrocuted while attempting to vandalize the cables.”

He further noted, “The body, which had begun to decompose, was evacuated to Dutse General Hospital for a medical examination. This gruesome incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers associated with vandalizing public infrastructure, particularly electrical installations.”

The Jigawa State Police Command strongly condemned such criminal acts and issued a stern warning to the public against engaging in hazardous and unlawful activities.

SP Adam emphasised the command’s commitment “to protecting public property and ensuring the safety of lives and infrastructure across the state.”

He urged residents to remain vigilant and “report any suspicious persons or activities in their communities to the nearest police station.”

He added, “This incident highlights the importance of community policing and cooperation in maintaining security.”

The police are currently working to identify the deceased and are conducting a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

“As the investigation progresses, the command will provide additional updates.

“This incident serves as a warning to would-be vandals and a reminder of the consequences of their actions,” Adam stated.
