Team Edo intensifies preparations for 2024 National Sports Festival

With the 2024 National Sports Festival(NSF) fast approaching, the Edo State Sports Commission(ESSC) Executive Chairman, Desmond Enabulele, has restated his commitment to ensuring Team Edo delivers a winning performance at the prestigious national event slated for Ogun State.

In a statement issued by his Media Officer,  Mr. Edoko Wilson Edoko, Enabulele after observing a series of training sessions and trials held by various sports associations across several centres, expressed satisfaction with the current level of preparation and the performance of athletes, describing it as a strong indication that Edo is on the path to success.

He said, “In a bid to enhance the training of our athletes, boost their morale, and motivate our coaches for the upcoming National Sports Festival, I had the opportunity to observe various sports associations conducting their trials and intensifying their preparations.” 

He commended the athletes and coaching staff for their dedication and hard work. 

“I am very impressed with Team Edo’s performance. With this momentum, we are on course to clinch victory,” he stated confidently.

The Chairman reaffirmed the Commission’s unwavering support and commitment to creating a conducive environment for athletes to excel, adding that the state’s sports development strategy remains focused on excellence and grassroots empowerment.

“Together, we will continue to work hard and strive for excellence as we represent Edo State at the National Sports Festival,” Enabulele concluded.

The 2024 National Sports Festival, often referred to as Nigeria’s version of the Olympics, is scheduled to hold this month and will bring together top athletes from across the country in various disciplines.
