It was another impressive outing for Kayode Oke Solomon as Bendel Insurance Football Club of Benin on Sunday, April 13th, 2025 defeated Kwara United 1-0 in the Match Day 33 of the Nigeria Premier Football League(NPFL) in Ilorin. Insurance FC had thrashed Kwara Utd 3-0 in their first round meeting in Benin.
The energetic striker scored the only goal of the match for the Benin Arsenals in the 33rd minute to lift his side above the Harmony Boys before their home crowd.
Recall that Kayode, on Wednesday, April 2nd, 2025 at the Lafia City Stadium In Nasarawa State scored his first career hat trick to help Bendel Insurance triumph over Adamawa Utd 3-0 in the Round of 32 match of the 2025 President Federation Cup to advance to the Round of 16. The Benin Arsenals are paired against archrivals Rangers International in the round of 16 scheduled for Wednesday, April 16th, 2025 in Lagos.
Bendel Insurance FC had it tough with Rangers International in the Match Day 32 in Benin as they shared the spoils in a barren draw at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium.
The 1-0 away win has come as a relief and has pushed Bendel Insurance up in the league table as they currently occupied 5th position on 49 points, and now have something to fight for as the league is winding down.
Bendel Insurance FC will be host to Nasarawa United in the Match Day 34 in Benin on Saturday, April 19th at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin.
In a post match interview, Coach Greg Ikhenoba heaped praises on Kayode Oke and the team’s performance. He commended his boys for their resilience and strong character.
“Congratulations to the boys and the rest of us on the hard earned victory, particularly Kayode Oke. I am happy we preserved what we got in the first half and we are running away with it. It was the best way to respond to the home draw with Rangers last week. This is just the beginning of success for Kayode. I want him to be prolific and he shall be there, ” Ikhenoba said.
