The Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists(NUJ), Edo State Council, Dr. Festus Alenkhe, has commended the state governor, Monday Okpebholo, for his commitment to the growth and development of the media industry.
Alenkhe’s commendation came on the heel of the restoration of Edo Broadcasting Service(EBS) TV terrestrial on UHF Channel 45 and the reopening of the Ihievbe Broadcast Station, “which marks a significant return to the airwaves after a decade of absence, reestablishing a vital connection with the people of Edo North and Nigeria as a whole.”
According to Alenkhe, “this milestone is a testament to Governor Okpebholo’s commitment to revitalizing the media industry in Edo State. The Governor’s leadership and vision have made a significant impact, and we are grateful for his efforts.”
Going further, Alenkhe extended his commendation to his boss, the Managing Director(MD) of the EBS, Sulaiman Aledeh, “for his dedication to ensuring the transformation and success of EBS,” adding that “his hard work and expertise have been instrumental in achieving this milestone.”
Alenkhe stressed: “We appreciate Governor Okpebholo’s commitment to the growth and development of the media industry in Edo State, as evident in his decision to absorb the new EBS staff. This move demonstrates his dedication to empowering journalists and promoting quality journalism in Edo State.
“Once again, congratulations to Governor Monday Okpebholo on this remarkable achievement. We look forward to continued collaboration and growth in the media industry.”
