The Calm Down Nigeria Initiative(CDNI), a project designed by patriotic Nigerians to promote peace, unity and development in the country, has joined the clamour for an end to the destructive protest ongoing across some parts of the country.
It advised ethnic and religious leaders, especially in the North, to use their influence on the people, to support President Bola Tinubu in taking potesters off the streets, “because the protest has turned violent and destructive.”
The group explained that “the ethnic and religious leaders are more closer to the people. That the people have faith more on this set of leaders than the government, because of the routine roll this set of leaders play in their daily lives.
“That is why it is necessary for them to use this influence now to get the people off the Streets. They can meet in their assembly and issue press statements, adverts and empowerment programs encouraging them to end the protest and embrace dialogue.”
