A senior official of the Edo State Government (name withheld) has called the bluff of those he called lazy Edo youths whom he stated thrive in spinning fantabulous tales against the administration of Governor Godwin Obaseki saying “Governor Godwin Obaseki cannot be blackmailed for whatever reason.”
The notable government official was reacting to a publication brought to his notice on the issue of non-payment of five months salaries of Special Assistants(SA) and Senior Special Assistants(SSA) under the employ of the state government.
From his response to the publication, the official barely restrained himself from declaring the appointees as redundant, lazy folks whose engagement by the state government meant to partly boost the electoral fortunes of the ruling People’s Democratic Party(PDP) went contrary to the expected result “as our party lost the national election held in February 2023.”
The ‘appointees’ were advised to up their game by going for capacity building and further studies in some of the schools established in the state and “don’t allow themselves to be used as tools by the opposition in the attempt to score cheap points against Governor Obaseki.”
