Dorry Afe Okojie, a former governorship aspirant of the Labour Party(LP) in Edo State, has called it quits with the party and active politics.
In a letter he addressed to the Chairman of the party in his ward 4 Ohordua, Esan South East Local Government Area, Okojie stated that he took the decision to enable him focus and dedicate to growing his private businesses.
The letter in part went thus: “I wish to convey to you my resignation from the Labour Party.
“My resolve to resign from the party is sequel to my decision to quit active politics for the time being. This is to enable me to be entirely focused and dedicated to growing my private businesses.
“I wish to assure the party and those in the political arena of my continued support, and please do not hesitate to contact me for advice/counsel whenever the need arises, especially for matters pertaining to moving our dear Edo State forward.
“| wish to thank the members and all the organs of the party for their support during my quest for the gubernatorial ticket of the party.
“While wishing the party well in all its future political engagements, I wish to express the assurances of my highest regards.”
