Also it was discovered that one of the groups led by Comrade Khuenbor Felix(aka Mr. Figo), which was coy in its Press Briefing, has its sympathies for the candidate of the All Progressives Congress(APC) for the September 21st gubernatorial polls, Senator Monday Okpebholo. The second group, which was  also silent in its Press Briefing about its choice of candidate is aligning with the People’s Democratic Party(PDP) flagbearer, Barrister Asue Ighodalo.

Addressing a press briefing simultaneously in two different locations in Benin City on Saturday, the two groups sympathetic while passing a vote of no confidence on the LP primary election process said some compromised leaders of the party “due to their disgraceful and unpatriotic activities they engaged in, before, during and after during the recent primary election.”

According to the Obidient Movement, “LP which supposed to provide alternative platform has become the worst and conducted the worst primary election in Edo State. We witnessed a situation where some compromised party executives at the national, state, LGAs and wards openly and shamelessly traded the party ticket to the highest bidder, thereby denying people with marketable credentials that could favourably compete with other party candidates.

“There was clear woeful dollarisation of the party primary as an aspirant with the highest volume of dollars, rained on some compromised national, state, LGAs and ward executives with their manipulated delegates got the party ticket. It must be clear that this unholy action is anti Obedient Movement and against what Peter Obi is known and stand for, therefore, must be rejected totally.

“We cannot fold our hands and allow our dear state to be further mortgaged to evil elements. Those who sell party ticket, if not agberos’ style should have examined the buyers to know that they do not have footprints in Edo State before coming into the party and no support from them during the presidential election when the party was without structure, knowing fully well that the candidacy of Mr. Peter Obi was for the masses and national rescue. “

In conclusion, the Obidient Movement stressed that “now that the LP has woefully failed, in a couple of weeks, we shall be deciding which candidate from other political parties that befits the desire of our people (Edolites) to align our movement.”
