Hon. Billy Osawaru, the member representing Orhionmwon/Uhunmwode Federal Constituency, has come out to narrate what led to his sacking of Tony Osazuwa, his erstwhile Chief Of Staff.
According to him in a statement made on his behalf by Ukato Thomas, his Media and Publicity Assistant, “he had to make the difficult, unfortunate but needed decision of relieving the appointment of his Senior Legislative Aide (Chief Of Staff), Hon. Tony Osazuwa.
“However, the federal lawmaker said that he has been inundated by several calls and has also observed with dismay, the false narratives being peddled on social media by overzealous supporters and wishes to make the following clarifications.
“That the distinguished APC Chieftain and gubernatorial aspirant, Pastor Osagie Ize Iyamu remains his highly respected leader whom he will never do anything to bring his name to disrepute; against the falsehood being peddled, Hon. Tony Osazuwa’s appointment was terminated as a result of actions that have repeatedly violated his (Hon. Billy’s) principles which is capable of bringing disrepute to the people’s office which he holds in trust for them and that Hon. Tony Osazuwa literally forced his hand by not paying heed to his repeated respectful reprimands.
“Hon. Billy Osawaru wishes to emphasize that this was never about his former Chief of Staff’s support for Pastor Osagie Ize Iyamu. Hon. Tony Osazuwa is a leader (in his own right) who has made a name for himself politically and is at liberty to support whoever he fancies and peddlers of falsehood and twisted narratives are advised to get their facts right and desist from fanning the embers of discord.
“Hon. Billy is committed to a united APC in Edo State and has huge respect for its leaders.”
Insiders stated that what further got Hon. Osawaru angry was that Osazuwa played truancy, right from 16th June, 2023 when he officially resumed his duties was never available to carry out his assignments.
