Ex-soccer great, Pa Alabi Aisien, has poured encomium on Edo State Deputy Governor, Comrade Philip Shaibu.
The 89 year old Pa Aisien, who rose from being a player of Benin Insurance FC to become a Technical Adviser of the team, while recently addressing the sports loving Comrade Shaibu when he paid him a surprised courtesy visit said that the Deputy Governor is one of a select few which include the former Governor of Lagos State and ex-Minister of Works and Housing, Barrister Raji Fashola, who till date accord him recognition for his contributions to Nigeria.
In a voice laden with emotions, the Octogenarian said: “Nobody remembers what I did for Nigeria, except the former Governor of Lagos State, Raji Fashola and your very good self, my own boss, Philip Shaibu.
“I will never forget in a hurry; I have told my children and my grandchildren what you have done for me. I value you so much.”
Comrade Shaibu, the favourite to succeed Governor Godwin Obaseki, in November, will be flying the People’s Democratic Party(PDP) banner in the gubernatorial polls coming up in September.
