Engineer Osereme Christen Omofoma, the Edo Central Labour Party(LP) senatorial candidate in the last general elections, has thrown his weight behind the Super Falcons of Nigeria in the ongoing 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
He congratulated the Super Falcons for defeating the co-host of the tournament, Australia Women(Matildas) in the second Group B match on Thursday morning.
In his congratulatory message, he said, that the Super Falcons manifested the true Nigerian spirit. He, however, urged them not to relent, but bring out the best in them in order to book a place in the round of 16.
The Super Falcons won the Matildas of Australia 3-2 following a brilliant performance. With the result the Nigerian girls have topped the Group B with 4points followed by Canada. The Nigerians will be facing the girls from Ireland in their last group match.
A draw or a win in the game against the Ireland women will catapult the Nigerians to the round of 16 of the mundial.
