Yes, Obaseki bought forms for some LP house of assembly candidates but they ditched him

Labour Party (LP) Director of Contact and Mobilisation in the Diaspora, Chief Patrick Osagie Eholor, who is also the President of One Love Foundation, has again refuted claims in some quarters that his party has a working agreement with the Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, for the forthcoming State House of Assembly polls.

He said: “I have debunked this many times and I am doing it once more. My principal, Mr. Peter Obi, and the LP national chairman were in Benin City last Saturday. There was no period during the visit that they had any meeting with Governor Obaseki or Osarodion Ogie as being alleged by some mischievous elements.

“Light and darkness are separate and they can never meet. We are out to deal with APC and PDP and there is no way we will have alliance with any of them. It is not possible. In Edo State, I am particular about this state, I don’t know of what obtains in other states, we have no deal with any other political party. We have no connection with them.

“They’re also alleging that Godwin Obaseki planted his loyalists as LP candidates. That’s no true. Yes, it might be true when the people were desperate and there was a fight with Chief Dan Orbih. He wanted to get himself prepared. He thought that he is smart but he is not. I mean the governor.

“He is not a smart guy. He bought tickets for some of our members. It was true. This is verifiable with Osarodion Ogie, who is the Secretary to the State Government (SSG). There was a meeting and Osarodion Ogie in his wisdom asked those candidates who were not with him to walk out. Eighteen of them walked out on him. We expelled the six others who refused to walk out and replaced them with others.

“Since then they became Obidient and they have been paying their allegiance and loyalty to Peter Obi/Datti Movement. So we have no connection with Godwin Obaseki.”

Chief Eholor charged followers of Peter Obi/Datti to stop doing business with the UBA because of Tony Elumelu’s hobnobbing with Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the President Elect even when the LP is still in court with Tinubu as a complain against the fallout of the Presidential election.
