20th National Sports Festival: Edo mounts road block against Delta’s dominance plot

Comrade Musa Ebomhiana, one of the Project Managers for Communication and Media for the 20th National Sports Festival commencing in Benin City on Friday, April 2nd, 2021, has warned neighbouring Delta State, who won the previous edition of the sports festival held in Abuja some years ago, to be on the lookout as they will get stiff opposition from Edo State in the current edition.

“We are very prepared for the 20th national sports festival. We have been prepared right from March last year before the games were postponed.

“We have been prepared and we are still ready anytime, anyday. Delta just by a stroke of chance topped the medals table in the 19th edition of the games held in Abuja.

“This time around we are not just hosting for the sake of hosting. We are hosting to win and we are not going to be involved in all these shady deals. We are going to win. We are going to win clean.

“They(Delta State) know that Edo is a home of sports. Delta State will be trailing us by the time the games really start. The first games will start on Sunday(April 3rd, 2021).

“We don’t see Delta State coming near us. We are going to be light years ahead of them. So, I don’t think that there is any course for alarm,” he stressed.
